Two men injured in shooting on Rothney Avenue in Southern Pines

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (WTVD) -- Two men were injured in a shooting in Southern Pines Saturday morning, according to police.
Officers responded around 12:50 a.m. to a report of shots fired near Rothney Avenue and Haines Court. Investigators determined that two men had suffered gunshot wounds. Both victims went to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in private vehicles before first responders arrived.
When officers reached the scene, they encountered a large crowd gathered near the location of the shooting, where a party was taking place. Investigators recovered multiple shell casings.
Detectives interviewed the victims at the hospital. Police said both men suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made.
Investigators are continuing to gather information and identify potential witnesses. Police said there is no ongoing threat to the community related to the incident.
