Scooter rider seriously hurt after being hit by car in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Raleigh police are investigating a crash that left a scooter rider with life-threatening injuries Friday morning.

According to police, officers responded around 7:22 a.m. to the intersection of New Bern Avenue and Columbia River Lane after a report of a crash with injuries.

Investigators say a man riding a scooter was struck by a vehicle. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

One lane of New Bern Avenue remains closed as investigators work at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
