Police release image of shooter in Fayetteville Subway robbery

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville Police Department has released a surveillance photo of the man who shot a Subway restaurant employee twice during a holdup late Friday night.

It happened around 10 p.m. at the business on the 9500 block of Cliffdale Road.

Police said 21-year-old employee Michael Wright was taking out the trash through a back door of the business when he was jumped by someone waiting out back and a struggle ensued.

Wright was shot during the struggle. He's recovering at the hospital.

The gunman ran through the back door and grabbed the cash drawer and then ran out the front. He's described as a black male, 5'09" tall, and medium build. He was wearing a dark hoodie, with the hood pulled tightly around his face, a blue mask, dark pants, and light shoes. The suspect used a semi-automatic pistol during this incident and should be considered armed and dangerous.
