RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Two men have been charged after a shooting and a wreck in Raleigh on Sunday.

Raleigh police responded to reports of a shooting just after 5 p.m. on Tuckland Drive.

Minutes later, police were dispatched to a single-vehicle wreck on Sunnybrook Road at the intersection of Woodmeadow Parkway.

Police said the two incidents were related. The wreck happened when Maurice Rashaad Nicholson, 24, was being taken to WakeMed after being shot, according to police.

Authorities said 24-year-old Michael Javon Bryant was the man involved in the Sunnybrook Road crash. He also was taken to WakeWed and had gunshot wounds.

Police have obtained a warrant for Nicholson charging him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill in connection with the shooting of Bryant. The warrant will be served when Nicholson is released from the hospital, according to authorities.

A third man, 18-year-old Ravon Devonte Harrington was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the shooting of Nicholson. Harrington was arrested at the Sunnybrook crash scene and later taken to the Wake County Detention Center.

Raleigh police are still investigating.
