1 killed in train accident in Johnston County

FOUR OAKS, N.C. (WTVD) -- A train accident killed one person in Four Oaks on Sunday, according to Johnston County officials.

Johnston County dispatch said they received the call about a fatal train accident around 11:18 a.m.

Authorities said it happened on the train tracks at Main Street and E. North Railroad Street.

Four Oaks police confirmed it was a pedestrian that was struck and killed.

The pedestrian's identity will be released pending next of kin notification.
