Two children killed in fatal Danville fire

DANVILLE, Va. (WTVD) -- Two little girls were killed Wednesday night in Danville, Virginia.

Firefighters said fire and heavy smoke were coming from the house when they arrived on the scene.

After learning the girls were trapped inside, firefighters rushed in and pulled the girls out.

They tried to resuscitate them before they were taken for medical help, but it was too late. The 4-year-old and the 10-year-old were pronounced dead at the hospital.

There's no word on where the parents were at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
