UPS employee accused of stealing prescription drug shipments

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WTVD) -- The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has charged a UPS employee with stealing packages of prescription drugs from a sorting center where he worked.



Anthony Dante Blanks, 26, is charged with three counts of larceny by an employee, trafficking by possession, trafficking by transporting, trafficking by selling, trafficking by delivery, and conspiring to traffic opium.



Detectives said between May and July, Blanks stole three packages containing various quantities of prescribed Oxycodone tablets, an opioid pain medication.



Bond was set at $40,000.



A spokesperson for UPS said Blanks is no longer employed with the company.
