Veterans honored with events across the viewing area

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- NC State's ROTC program celebrated Veterans Day Friday with a 5K run followed by a service at the Bell Tower.

The group holds the ceremony every year to show gratitude for those who have served.

Other Veterans Day events around the Triangle include a wreath laying at the Rolesville Veterans Memorial, a celebration at the Cary Veterans Freedom Park on North Harrison Avenue, a dedication ceremony for the Orange County Veterans Memorial on Homestead Road in Chapel Hill, and events at Fort Bragg.
