WAKE COUNTY, N.C. -- A family is out of their home after a fire broke out.
Rolesville battalion fire chief said the call came in just after 5 this morning.
They immediately saw flames shooting from the roof when they arrived.
With help from neighboring agencies they were able to clear the fire.
Because it was a county street there were not many nearby fire hydrants so they had to use tanker trucks to get water from a hydrant at the nearby high school and transfer it to the home.
The cold temperatures also created a challenge for the team as they worked.
They brought in the DOT to salt the roads afterwards so not to create issues for other drivers
Everyone made it out safely and the cause is still under investigation.
