Tiny patients at UNC Health Rex get festive for Easter

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Easter came a little early for some of the smallest patients at UNC Health Rex.

Inside the neonatal intensive care unit, nurses helped dress infants in festive holiday outfits, complete with bunny ears, baskets and pastel touches, offering families a moment of joy during a stressful time.

The hospital says the tradition is meant to help parents celebrate milestones and holidays, even when their newborns must remain in the hospital. For families navigating the challenges of the NICU, nurses say these small moments can offer comfort, connection and a sense of normalcy.

Hospital staff hope the Easter celebration brings smiles to parents' faces and creates lasting memories during an otherwise difficult chapter.
