WAKE COUNTY (WTVD) -- Two people were killed in a single-car crash in Wake County on Saturday night.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol said the 1998 Honda was travelling at a high rate of speed around 8:45 p.m. on Fowler Road near Wendell.

The Honda ran off the road into a ditch embankment and fence, flipped several times, and ejected both the driver and the passenger.

The driver, 30-year-old James Arthur Wycherley Jr. of Wake Forest, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger, 22-year-old Revonte Donquel Arrington of Franklinton, was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The crash is still under investigation.
