RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- After starting the morning off with gray skies, the sun finally came out late this morning.
Temperatures soared into the 60s and 70s, bringing a much-needed dose of warmth to the day. But don't get too comfortable just yet - a cold front is moving in, and with it, cooler temperatures are on the way for the weekend.
Tonight, things will take a turn as the temperatures drop into the 30s and 40s. Winds will pick up a bit, coming from the north at 5-10 mph, adding a chill to the evening air.
As for tomorrow, expect a mix of clouds with highs hovering in the mid-50s to low 60s. There's a small chance for light showers in the late afternoon or evening, as a low-pressure system develops along that cold front that moved through today.
Looking ahead to Monday, we'll see more clouds, and while there's still a chance of rain, it looks like the best chance of showers will stay south and east of the Triangle area. It won't be a washout by any means, but keep an umbrella handy just in case.
Temperature-wise, we're sticking close to what's expected for early March, with daytime highs generally around 60 and nighttime lows dipping into the 40s with some 30s west and north of the Triangle.
The good news is that by Tuesday, we're back to warmer weather and sunny skies. It looks like we'll be in for some dry days with temperatures staying warm, at least until the weekend rolls back around.
Have a good weekend!
