Woman jilted by text week before wedding runs 5K in her wedding dress

TAMPA, Fl. -- A Florida woman says all it took for her to get over a devastating breakup is getting a little messy, with the help of her friends.

Kilee Manuluk was just a week away from her dream wedding when she got a text from her fiance calling the whole thing off.

Fortunately, Manuluk had exactly the kind of bridesmaids you want by your side.

They suggested she take in part in a color run, where colored corn starch is thrown in the air during a 5K run, while wearing her wedding dress.

"I did it for me. I did it to help me heal. I did it to kind of show other people it's ok you know everything happens for a reason. You know push through it," she said. "It was fun. I mean it looked very colorful. It looked different. It now represented something different and it represented something better."

At the end fo the cathartic and messy run, Manuluk made the decision to thank her former fiance.

She says even though the timing was bad, he saved her from heartache in the future.

Her would-be wedding dress will be cleaned and donated.
