Woman shot outside of Wilmington-area mall dies

WILMINGTON, North Carolina -- The Wilmington Police Department said the woman who was shot at Independence Mall has died, reports WWAY.

According to New Hanover County Dispatch, the call came in around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The incident happened near Ruby Tuesday's on Oleander Drive.

Wilmington police officials are still investigating. Detectives believe this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.

The woman's identity has not yet been released.
