Sheriff's search for man considered armed, dangerous

HOPE MILLS, NC Gregory Thomas Simpkins, Jr., 19, of Hope Mills is wanted on multiple charges including; breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, larceny of a motor vehicle, communicating threats and injury to personal property.

Investigators say Simpkins' most recent encounter with the law occurred on July 25 with Hope Mills Police when he allegedly attempted to steal a four wheeler from a home in the community. He also has been connected to a break in that occurred on the same day at the home of a former girlfriend. Officers say Simpkins caused more than $2000 worth of damage to the residence as well as damage to the contents inside.

Simpkins was recently released from jail on bond on charges of assaulting his girlfriend with a broken bottle. He was last seen at a home on Ackley Lane.
