Vandals wreck community center site

There's a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in a vandalism incident in Clayton.

The Clayton Police Department is investigating a vandalism, trespassing and breaking and entering at the new construction for the Clayton Community Center.

An officer on patrol discovered the damage. It happened sometime Saturday afternoon.

According to police, someone broke int a construction trailer on the time and were able to start some heavy equipment, including a bulldozer.

The vandal or vandals damaged the community center, which was under construction, a large quantity of building materials and other equipment.

The amount of damage is significant, and has yet to be fully estimated by the building contractors.

Anyone with information about the case is should contact the Clayton Police Department. The reward offered by the Town of Clayton is up to $5,000 for anyone providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
