Woman charged in fatal accident

RALEIGH According to the wreck report, just before 4 p.m., Linda Ratliff was making a left turn from Glenwood Avenue onto Brier Creek Parkway. She later told police she was not sure if she had a green light as she went through the intersection.

As Ratliff went through the intersection, her car collided with another vehicle. Two people in Ratliff's car were ejected. A passenger from the other car, 82 year old Minnie Lee Wade of Michigan, was killed.

Police say that eight people from the two cars involved were all transported to area hospitals. Their conditions are not known at this time.

Ratliff was also injured and treated at WakeMed.

She has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, driving while impaired, driving with no operator's license and a red light violation.

Ratliff is being held at the Wake County Jail under a $27,000 bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Monday at 2:00 p.m.
