Liquor by the drink in Chatham?

PITTSBORO The Chatham Board of County Commissioners want input from the public on holding a countywide referendum on the issue.

The hearing is Tuesday, January 20 at 6 p.m. in the Superior Courtroom in Pittsboro.

"The county commissioners want to hear people's thoughts on this issue before they make a decision one way or the other," said, County Manager Charlie Horne. "No decisions have been made as to whether this should go on any county ballot, so take this opportunity to be heard."

The only place in Chatham County that currently has liquor-by-the-drink is Fearrington Village, which was authorized by special state legislation.
