The property is a cell phone that police say was taken during a Nov. 24 robbery and assault in the Corcoran Street parking garage. The garage is located next to Self-Help Credit Union in downtown Durham.
Police say Massey is charged with possessing the stolen cell phone the day after the robbery.
A 54-year-old male told police he was getting on the elevator around 8:15 p.m. when four male approached his. The suspects allegedly punched the man repeatedly on his head and face before taking his wallet, cash and two cell phones.
No one has been charged with the robbery.
Self-Help of Durham has increased its reward contribution to $5,000 in addition to the existing CrimeStoppers reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
