No bond reduction for father in shooting

RALEIGH The lawyer for 26-year-old Eric Hinton was trying to get him released. His bond has been set at $100,000 since his arrest in December.

Raleigh detectives say Hinton's 3-year-old son Pharell got hold of his father's gun and shot himself on Christmas Eve.

It happened at a home on Ujamaa Drive.

Hinton is charged with involuntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a felon. He faces up to eight-and-a-half months in jail if convicted.
