According to investigators, a Suzuki SUV and a Lexus SUV were traveling southbound on MLK when they collided. After colliding, the SUV went into the median and overturned.
The driver of the SUV, 24-year-old Natasha Matthews of Fayetteville, died at the scene.
One of her passengers, 24-year-old Valerie Groves of Fayetteville, was airlifted to UNC Hospitals and her condition is unknown. The second passenger, a 3-year-old girl, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with minor injuries.
The driver of the Lexus, 45-year-old Yaneth Perez of Fayetteville, and her two passengers were not injured.
Police say charges are being withheld pending the completion of the investigation.
