Company hiring 240 workers for iPhone center

RALEIGH Affiliated Computer Services spokesman Chris Gilligan said the company plans to pay more than minimum wage plus benefits for most positions and some management positions are available.

Workers will take calls from customers who own the iPhone.

ASC already has about 650 workers in Raleigh and more than 1,000 at a Cary facility.

The company selected Raleigh for its newest call center because it already has facilities in the area. ASC also said the area has a large labor pool that includes high-tech workers who have lost their jobs.
