NCDOT to close section of I-95

CUMBERLAND COUNTY The closure will happen on north and south bound at Exit 61 for Wade-Stedman Road.

The orginal plan was to take place Monday at 8 p.m. until Tuesday at 7 a.m. and Tuesday at 8 p.m. until Wednesday at 7 a.m.

The DOT says Monday's planned I-95 lane closure is postponed until Tuesday due to the rain.

The DOT says if weather is not clear Tuesday night, they will shutdown the southbound lanes first, and then the north bound lanes the following night. I-95 north and south will not be closed at the same time.

During the closures, motorists will be directed up the ramp at Exit 61 and back down to I-95.

The DOT says the closures are necessary for work to increase the vertical clearance of the Wade-Stedman Road Bridge over I-95.
