Heels, Spartans will square off again

It will be the first time the teams play since the 2009 NCAA championship game where the Heel won 89-72. It will be the fifth time the teams have played in the last six seasons, with Carolina claiming victory each of those times.

Overall, the Tar Heels lead the series 9-2. The Spartans lead, 2-1, in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge with wins in 1999-2000 and 2000-01. Carolina is 5-5 in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge with a 2-3 record at home and a 3-2 mark on the road.

However, the Tar Heels have won five of the six games played under head coach Roy Williams.
