FSU's chancellor suspending nursing program

FAYETTEVILLE In a letter sent to the state board of nursing, Chancellor James Anderson says he has ordered the suspension of admissions effective immediately.

No new students will be allowed into the program until all current students have graduated and the curriculum has been re-vamped.

FSU had the worst passing rate in the state on the 2008 licensing test at only 39 percent.

The program has been on probation with the state board of nursing since 2007.
