State unemployment drops slightly

RALEIGH It slipped to 11 percent - down from 11.1 percent in May. Compare that to 6.1 percent a year ago.

County by county numbers for June are due out later this month.

The news isn't good for the thousands still looking for work, and time is running out for many.

The ESC says roughly 8700 people will run out of unemployment benefits within the next two months.
