The search ended Monday after no evidence of her was found in the area of Kings Mountain, N.C., near Charlotte, almost 200 miles from Blairsville.
Officials set up a grid and used cadaver dogs to look for the woman.
Officers say someone called a tip into the TV show "America's Most Wanted" and said Cornwell's body was in King's Mountain. The case was profiled on the show Saturday night.
Detectives began searching Kings Mountain Sunday.
Cornwell's family is offering a $50,000 reward for information reading to her safe return or the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for her disappearance.
