Raleigh police searching for suspect

Raleigh police are searching for a man that allegedly tried to get a woman to go into a wooded area with him. The victim told police that around 5:45 p.m. Monday she was walking in the 2600 block of Oxford Road when a man walked up to her.

The woman said he told her he had a gun and demanded she go into a nearby wooded area with him.

She told authorities she did not see a gun and ran away. She said the man did not follow her.

The suspect is described as a white man who stands about 6 feet tall and weighs about 195 pounds. He was wearing a navy-colored sweat suit, and navy-colored hat with unknown white lettering.
