"I can't believe some of the stuff auctioning off that people actually want," Apex resident Earl Linthicum said.
Bargain hunter Reggie Fowler said he found a few bargains Saturday.
He's attended hundreds of surplus auctions and said you can actually make thousands of dollars if you're smart.
"Things go kind of cheap sometimes, you can sell them on eBay or open market or anything like that," Fowler said.
Items left at the airport, on the plane or on a bus were up for grabs Saturday, even the bus.
Four 2005 buses were on the auction block. One person took them all at $4,200 each.
"If anybody in Raleigh needs a shuttle service, hey I'll do the service really inexpensive," buyer Curt Williams said.
The auction featured more than 10 vehicles and other items that included more than 1,200 pieces of jewelry, digital cameras, books, laptop computers, baby gear and more.
