An ABC11 news crew reported a crime scene was taped off near Broad Street between Person and Russell Streets. The remains were several hundred yards back in a wooded area and were discovered by a man looking for a spot to go fishing.
Police said forensic technicians were are on scene and an investigation was underway.
The cause of death was not clear and officials were working to identify the person.
