Downtown Durham left in the dark

Duke Energy crews worked quickly Wednesday morning trying to restore power in the downtown Durham area.At one point, about 2,200 customers were without power.

The outage began just after 8 a.m. on the west side of downtown and lasted for about an hour.

The outage knocked out power to stop lights and businesses.

Duke Energy says the cause of the blackout is undetermined, however crews did find downed lines.
