Police investigating two smash and grabs

RALEIGH The latest incident happened Monday morning at the Radio Shack in the Brier Creek shopping area.

It appears a pick-up truck crashed through the front door of the store and crooks helped themselves to whatever they could get.

Police haven't released any information about the suspects.

Authorities are also investigating similar crimes in Durham.

On Monday just before 5:30 a.m., a blue pickup truck was driven through the front of Game Stop on North Pointe Drive. Three men with their faces covered stole several games from the business.

The day before just before 5 a.m., a stolen Plymouth Voyager van was used to back into a Radio Shack on North Roxboro Road. Several items were taken and at least two men were involved. The stolen vehicle was found a short time later on Meriwether Drive.

Another stolen vechile, this time a Dodge van, was used to drive through the front entrance of Affordable Jewelry and Pawn on Hillsborough Road last Wednesday. Jewelry and electronic items were stolen from the business. Officers found the stolen van a short time later on Bridgefield Place.

Investigators have not determined if the same suspects are involved in all three break-ins in Durham.
