DNA leads to first degree murder charges

FAYETTEVILLE Fayetteville Police have charged 37-year-old James Cornelius McNeill with first degree murder.

They say he killed 21-year-old Jeremy Michael Dixon in August.

Authorities found Dixon dead on August 3 inside his apartment on Jefferey Drive off South Reilly Road, about one block from the Cliffdale Road intersection.

Police say the men knew each other and McNeill had been staying at Dixon's home for a few days when the murder happened.
