"It may seem like it's taking really long, but actually, the contract that we've hired is performing well ahead of what the contract requirement is," said Chris McGee, Raleigh streets superintendent.
Some of the Raleigh's hardest hit areas still have trash on the streets but McGee says some of the items the City can't pickup.
"Most of the debris on Serendipity and a lot of other places is construction debris and the City is not removing any of the construction debris," McGee added. "We have, our landfills are permitted for vegetative wooded debris only."
The North Carolina Baptist Men are helping homeowners like Debra Stewart get tree limbs from the backyard to the curb so the City can pick up the debris. However, she hasn't heard when that will happen.
Lynn Honeycutt says the amount of help people need is overwhelming.
"We've written over 400 jobs," said Honeycutt, NC Baptist Men. "We've completed about 250 of those jobs and have about 150 on hand so we're gonna be here till we finish the work."
The NC Department of Transportation also is a big part of the cleanup plan. It has split the county hired contractors to work the north and south ends of the county to clear debris from state maintained roads.
So, if you have construction debris, you'll have to work that out with the insurance company to get it picked up.
If you have tree limbs, the City says it will take another two weeks to collect it.
