Chemicals in the outbuilding at 8712 Green Level Church Road made it harder for firefighters, but they got the blaze under control before the building burned down.
No one was home at the time of the fire, but a passerby saw smoke and called authorities.
Morrisville Fire Department says it is unclear what was inside the garage because the roof caved in, but the house is owned by someone who offers pool cleaning services.
A landscaping company said one of its employees suffered burns and cuts when he got close to the building in an attempt to warn residents and the chemicals exploded.
