The Wake County Sheriff's says officers were responding to the report when a suspect in a white Chevrolet Caprice refused to stop.
Troopers followed the car down Old Stage Road and into Harnett County at speeds reaching at least 90 miles per hour.
The suspect, 27-year-old Justin Bass, then turned east and headed toward Johnston County.
The chase ended on Langdon Road near the Harnett-Johnston County line with the suspect in custody.
Bass is facing multiple felony charges including speeding to elude authorities, assault with a deadly weapon, larceny, breaking and entering and resisting an officer.
