Jean Metzger Hubbard of 1017 Taylor St., Goldsboro was reported missing Monday. Police said her body was found in a wooded area near Highway 70 Thursday.
The victim's brother Gary Metzger, 54, and his wife Ann, 34, both of 146 Country View Dr., are now charged with murder.
Hubbard worked for the Goldsboro News Argus newspaper. Police said her coworkers were aware there were issues between brother and sister, but they didn’t give details.
Police said they had Gary and Ann Metzger under surveillance after Hubbard was reported missing. They allegedly fled for several hours Thursday, and were located in a wooded area where they were arrested without incident.
