Authorities say Willie Shaw of Hillsborough was operating a dump truck when he lost control and veered off the right side of the road and struck two vehicles before hitting the house.
They say Shaw fell asleep at the wheel after finishing his overnight shift.
Images from Chopper 11 HD show the dump truck crashed into the front corner of the home. Tire marks could also been seen across the homeowner's front yard.
No one inside the house was hurt. Shaw was taken to Duke Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Shaw is charged with careless and reckless driving.Authorities say the accident caused thousands of dollars in damages.
The Highway Patrol is currently investigating.
