Police say 26-year-old Princess Nicole Singletary of Raleigh was behind the wheel when her vehicle struck and killed 61-year-old Santos Cruz-Domingue of Raleigh Rock Quarry Road.
It happened just after noon Thursday on Rock Quarry Road between Sanderford and Cross Link roads.
According to a wreck report, Singletary was distracted with the radio when she ran off the road and drove up onto the the sidewalk. She side swiped a utility pole before hitting Cruz-Domingue and then another utility pole.
Singletary is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to maintain lane of travel.
