The fire started late Monday night in the 800 block of Robeson Street at a car audio store called Banging Systems.
Firefighters said someone driving by saw smoke pouring from the business around 9:30 p.m. and called 911.
The building sustained heavy damage and several cars inside were destroyed.
A member of the fire department was injured as they battled the blaze. That person was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and later released.
An investigation determined the cause of the fire to be accidental.
