Police: Victim shot during robbery dies

RALEIGH

Police responded to the scene of a shooting at that location near the U.S. Highway 1/401 split around 8:30 p.m. Friday. Investigators say it happened at the M3 Tobacco shop.

EMS personnel determined Majid Mohram, 39, had sustained a gunshot wound and transported him to WakeMed, where he later died.

Police say they are looking for two suspects in the shooting - and both are thought to be black males in their teens or 20s.

The first suspect is believed to be around 5 feet, 7-8 inches tall. The second is thought to be about 6 feet tall.

Detectives believe there are people who both entered and left the store after the incident, but before police arrived. They are asking anyone who was there around the time of the incident to come forward, whether or not they believe they witnessed anything of value.

Earlier in the evening, another shooting happened just four blocks east of downtown Raleigh.

A 19-year-old man told police someone shot him near Lenoir and Haywood Streets. However, his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police are still looking for the gunman.

In both cases, police are asking anyone who may know anything to call Raleigh Police or CrimeStoppers at (919) 834-HELP.
