Cumberland deputies say missing woman was murdered

CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Investigators also said 50-year-old Edwardyne "Dynee" Williams was murdered.

Williams' remains were found by searchers in a wooded area off Canady Pond Road Sunday around 2 p.m.

Williams has been missing since Nov. 27. Her body was found in the same area where her SUV was located last week, about a mile from her home. Her cellphone was still inside the vehicle when it was discovered along Chicken Foot Road.

"The family is in shock and they're totally devastated," said Debbie Tanna with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators have not said how Williams died.

ABC11 has also learned nearly a dozen registered sex offenders live in the same area. There's no word yet on whether any of them are considered suspects.

"At this point in time we're not ruling out any suspects, but we also have to be realistic when we're piecing together this puzzle as to what happened to her," Tanna said.
