The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. when the car carrier crashed and lost one its cars.
Police diverted traffic up the Louisburg Road exit ramp and back down the other side for about an hour while the truck's wreckage was cleared from the roadway.
Traffic began flowing smoothly again around 10 p.m.
The truck's driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Right now, police do not know what caused the accident.
