Blood donations urged following Western NC crash

TOXAWAY, N.C.

A tractor trailer hit a church van head-on during heavy fog on U.S. Highway 64 in Toxaway, Transylvania County Wednesday evening.

At least 15 people are hurt. Many of the injured are children. Four people are listed in critical condition.

The American Red Cross says its supply of O-negative blood in Asheville is now depleted. So, they've had to take a supply of blood from the Triangle.

The Red Cross is asking anyone who can to donate blood Thursday.
