The State Highway Patrol says 24-year-old Emerald Padilla died in the crash. Troopers say Padilla was going too fast for the wet roads and lost control of her car. The car then hit a utility pole and burst into flames.
Investigators don't know yet whether Padilla was killed by the impact of the crash or the fire. The medical examiner will release the cause of death.
