Pair charged with sexually exploiting teen in Raleigh

RALEIGH

According to court documents, the teen from Washington, D.C. is safe and will be returned to the District of Columbia.

The girl was found at the Super 8 Motel in the Oak Park shopping center off Glenwood Avenue.

Two people are charged in the case.

Twenty-year-old Elaton Omar White of Raleigh is accused of videotaping the teen having sex. He's charged with first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, statutory rape, taking indecent liberties with a child, crimes against nature, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Also accused is 20-year-old Jacquelin Bann of Cary. She faces charges of prostitution and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

"This is an active investigation with the Raleigh Police Department. It's obviously something they're taking very seriously. There may be additional charges once we have a chance to figure out exactly what was going on in that room and what kinds of things led to the police being drawn to that area," said Wake County Assistant District Attorney Melanie Shekita.

Bond for White was set at half a million dollars. Bond for Ban was set at $2,000.
