Cumberland woman accused of taking from cancer charity

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has charged a woman with taking thousands of dollars from a charity that raises money for cancer victims.

Maranda Lea Damico, 34, of Tennis Drive Stedman, was arrested Monday on embezzlement charges.

Deputies said as treasurer in charge of bookkeeping, she took $10,839 from the Swamp Boys and Fishing to Fight Cancer Foundation.
