Heritage High baseball coach charged with assault in Wake Forest

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- The head baseball coach at Heritage High School in Wake Forest was arrested Saturday and charged with assaulting his girlfriend, according to police.

Officers said 29-year-old Joseph Robert John went into his girlfriend's house without her permission, kicked open her locked door, and assaulted her.

He was arrested nearby, close to the intersection of South Franklin Street and Rogers Road. Police said he had left his girlfriend's house earlier that evening after an argument.

John was charged with injury to real property, breaking and entering, and assault on a female.
