Rain moves out, cooler air returns for the weekend

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- We ended the week the way it started, with sometimes-heavy rain throughout the day and evening on Friday. Rounds of rain moved through central North Carolina from the morning through early evening.

Keep a jacket handy for the weekend. It will be drier and cooler with a chance of a spotty shower on Saturday.

Looking Ahead

There will be lots of clouds on Saturday, with a stray shower still possible. Most places stay dry, with highs in the low 60s.

Temperatures will drop into the upper 50s and low 60s to start the weekend under mostly cloudy skies.

Sunday will be warmer and brighter, with highs in the mid/upper 60s.

Conditions will improve into the early part of the week, but the weather pattern will remain stubbornly unsettled throughout the week into Good Friday.
