If you are looking for a few free and cheap ways to spend the weekend, we've got some for you.
Flip flops will get you a free smoothie at Tropical Smoothie Cafe on Friday, June 20 from 2pm-7pm. The smoothie chain celebrates National Flip Flop Day every year on the third Friday in June by giving out a FREE 24oz Jetty Punch Smoothie for anyone who comes in wearing flip flops. They will accept donations to benefit Camp Sunshine.
IRON MAN 3 takes over downtown Raleigh Friday evening. The PNC Downtown Raleigh Movie Series continues with movies filmed in North Carolina. Festivities begin at 5pm in City Plaza with the film beginning around sundown (between 8:15-8:30pm). Red Hat sponsors the event and provides some chairs, but, it's a good idea to bring one just in case.
Calling all Fashionistas! Sunday June 22nd you can freshen up your wardrobe with a high fashion swap. The fashionSPARK crew will be at it again at the Visual Arts Exchange (VAE) at 309 W. Martin St. in Raleigh hosting a fashion swap.
Drop off your new or gently worn items between 2-3pm and come back and shop between 3-4:30. All it will cost you is $5 to get in if you are bringing clothes, $7 if you just want to shop the swap. Not a bad way to freshen up your summer wardrobe as the summer solstice begins Saturday! This event is open to the public.
